COMBB postdoc Kristin Huizenga submitted a paper to Estuaries and Coasts, entitled, “Earlier onset and expanded seasonality of sub-regulatory dissolved oxygen levels in embayments of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.” The paper used the long-term Baywatchers water quality record to show that the onset of low oxygen in Buzzards Bay now occurs about 12 days earlier on average than it did in 2003. The onset of low oxygen is tightly linked to higher early summer water temperatures. Rachel Jakuba, Chris Neill, Linda Deegan, Tony Williams, and Jennie Rheuban are co-authors.

Lilia Bartolatta and Kristin Huizenga presented a webinar sponsored by the LiCOR Corporation, entitled, Collecting and Quality Controlling Dissolved Oxygen Data: A Buzzards Bay Case Study. The talk explained how the COMBB project deploys and quality checks data collected from HOBO dataloggers. A recording is available online.
